Holly grew up in rural Ontario and has a passion for growing food in her greenhouse, hiking, reading, baking and testing recipes. We met while Jason was working in Ontario, and his east coast charm won Holly over. We came back to Newfoundland to get married aboard the Emm-Cat catamaran in Norris Point and returned to Ontario where we started our family and spent almost 10 years working on our hobby farm, fishing from our trout pond, hunting the land, growing vegetables and raising animals. We ran a successful firewood business for several years, before moving to Rocky Harbour in 2019.
Both Jason and Holly have educational backgrounds that focus on business management and entrepreneurship. Together, we started Buoy & Arrow Restaurant and Suites in 2022. Building our business has given us with the opportunity to share our stories and passion for delicious, healthy, sustainably sourced food, supporting local businesses, and providing the kind of service and warmth you’d expect when visiting friends or family.
Holly’s place was perfect for us. A great location for exploring Gros Morne Park. The suite was very comfortable and the communication with Holly was first class with great recommendations. Also, the on site restaurant was the best in town. We will recommend her place to our friends for sure.

Squeaky clean comfortable cottage close to the harbour front. Holly was a great hostess and responded quickly to all our questions and requests. Would highly recommend!

We ate here last night and it was absolutely amazing! The girls running the front of house were fabulous, accommodating to our family and our many needs and questions. It’s hard for our family of 5 to find a place where everyone is happy and at the Buoy & Arrow, everyone left with smiles on their faces and full tummies.

We hadn’t had much luck with family friendly restaurants in Newfoundland, but Buoy & Arrow delivered. Our very hungry crew of 9 had just arrived from a hike on the Tablelands. Lobster rolls were a hit. Big portions. Fast service. Solid kids meals. Reasonably priced pitchers of beer. Super friendly staff. Would totally recommend if you’re in Gros Morne.

We were in Rocky Harbor these past two days and got food from here three times. The food was phenomenal. The fish tacos were a favorite in our family. The fish and chips were great too. It was my first time trying seafood chowder and it did not disappoint. The caramel cheesecake was great. Service was amazing. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Excellent food options with locally interesting choices like moose, lobster, and snow hare with desserts featuring local berries like partridgeberry. The crowd of diners here validate the high praise for this local gem.

Enjoyed the best caesar salad, fried chicken sandwich with fries and a caesar made with gin! All around Great food and drinks with great service. Wonderful art work on the walls for sale, nice view of the harbour while you eat also.
